To open the hood of a 2019 Ram 1500, first find the hood release lever located below the steering wheel. Pull it towards you until you hear a click. Next, go to the front of the truck and slide your hand between the grill and hood slightly to the right of center moving it towards the left. You will feel the catch lever in the center of the hood move. Use your other hand to lift the hood. The Ram is equipped with shocks on both sides of the hood to aid in lifting and holding it up, eliminating the need for a prop rod.
