To disable the traction control on a 2018 Ford Escape, simply press the TCS OFF button on the center console. When successfully turned off, a message will appear on the dashboard indicating that the traction control is off. To re-enable it, press the button again to see a message displaying traction control on. It is recommended to keep the traction control on while driving, as it assists in stabilizing the vehicle in wet or slippery conditions and on uneven roads. The system automatically slows down the vehicle if it starts to slip, reducing the risk of losing control.

Press and hold the VSC button for three seconds to disable both the TRAC and VSC systems. The TRAC off and VSC off lights will illuminate to indicate that they have been deactivated.
