While you can temporarily use SAE 5W-20 if necessary, it's not advisable as it can introduce unnecessary friction into the engine's processes. Over time, this friction can result in premature wear and tear, potentially leading to engine failure. So, despite the higher cost, it's best not to compromise on the quality of the motor oil, as doing so could have detrimental consequences for both yourself and your RDX in the future.
