The 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor requires a group size 49, H8 battery. It is recommended to opt for an absorbed glass mat (AGM) style, although you could save some money by choosing the traditional style batteries. To access the battery, simply open the hood and locate a black plastic casing on the front left side. There are three clips at the back that you can unsnap. Then, carefully unhook the cable around the edges of the casing by releasing it from the catches along the ridges. Once you remove the cover, you will see the old battery, which you can then replace with the new one.
