Since 2018, all engine versions of the Chevrolet Malibu have been equipped with a 15.8-gallon gas tank. In contrast, earlier models had varying tank sizes with the 2.0L engines having a 15.8-gallon tank from 2013 to 2015, and the 2.5L having an 18.5-gallon tank. From 2008 to 2012, regardless of engine size, the Malibu featured a 16-gallon tank. The tank capacity for different model years includes 16.1 gallons for the 2004 to 2007 models, 14.1 gallons for the 2003 model, 14.8 gallons for the 2002 and 2001 models, and 14.3 gallons for the 2000 model.

The car's size is a drawback as it requires frequent refueling despite being fuel-efficient. I believe it has a 12-gallon tank and should ideally have a 22-gallon tank instead.
