The cabin air filter for the 2020 Ford Escape is not located behind the glovebox as with previous models from 2013 to 2019. Instead, it is situated on the front passenger side of the vehicle, in the left corner of the footwell. To access the cabin air filter, you will require a T20 torx driver. Begin by removing the covers of the securing tabs by pinching and pulling them, and then take out the bottom panel from the glovebox assembly. Subsequently, you will find the filter housing cover with a screw that needs to be removed using the torx driver. Finally, pinch the tabs of the filter housing, pull outward, and then you can locate the cabin air filter.
Typically found beneath the glove compartment, often hidden under a small door, it is important to purchase an authentic HEPA filter for your car to prevent the spread of flu and COVID within the vehicle. This specific filter includes activated bamboo charcoal (ABC), and it is recommended to incorporate a copper mesh as the COVID virus cannot survive for extended periods on copper surfaces.
