To activate the cruise control on a Nissan Altima, simply press the on/off switch to turn it on and the cruise indicator light will come on. This feature allows you to choose a speed between 25 and 89 mph and stay at that speed until you decide to slow down, speed up, or stop. Once you've reached your desired speed, press and release the set/minus switch. Your car will then maintain that selected speed. If you need to overtake another vehicle, simply press the accelerator pedal. Once you've passed safely, release the accelerator and your car will return to the previously set speed. To fully deactivate the cruise control, press the on/off switch again and the cruise indicator light will turn off.
