To engage the cruise control on a 2004 GMC Envoy, start by turning on the system. Move the cruise control switch to the "on" position, which can be found on the lever to the left of the steering wheel. Once you reach your desired speed, press the set button at the end of the switch to set your speed. The cruise control will engage once your speed is over 25 mph. To disengage the cruise control, either tap the brake pedal or switch the cruise control switch to the "off" position. When the cruise control is active, a cruise light will appear on the instrument panel cluster. If you deactivated the cruise control by braking, you can resume your set speed by briefly moving the cruise control switch to the "resume/accelerate" position.
