To start replacing the rear wheel studs on your Ford Explorer, first purchase the replacement parts. Autozone offers the Dorman Wheel Stud 610-480.1 for $5 each, ensuring you get the same number as your tire requires. Here's a friendly reminder: by avoiding over-tightening initially, you could have prevented this task. Be more cautious next time! Next, lift your Explorer, and remove the wheel/tire assembly. Unbolt the brake caliper from its mounting bracket and remove it from the rotor. Proceed to take off the bolts securing the brake caliper-mounting bracket and then pull off the rotor. The exciting part comes next: use a hammer to knock out the stud from the hub; humming "If I had a hammer" is optional but recommended. Install the new stud and reassemble everything in the reverse order of disassembly.

To change the rear wheel studs on a Ford Explorer, you should first use a wrench to loosen the lug bolts of the wheel while the car is still on the ground. Next, lift the vehicle with a jack and secure it using jack stands. After that, take off the lug nuts and remove the tire.
