To replace the convertible top of your 2007 Ford Mustang, you first have to lower the current convertible top. Then, remove the rear seat backrests and the two rear quarter trim panels. Adjust the switch on the top to the raised position and remove the bolts and hydraulic lift cylinder brackets from each side. Next, remove the clevis-to-hydraulic lift cylinder rod bolts and lower the lift cylinders. Disconnect the hydraulic line locators and detach the top pump motor. Remove a total of 6 bolts, attach the L brackets to the quarter panel, and remove the 2 nuts on the top pump motor. Finally, carefully align and install the new convertible top, which can cost anywhere from $900 to $2000.
