If there is a faulty wheel bearing in your 2013 Ford Fusion, you will need to replace it. Sometimes, it may be more practical to swap out the entire wheel hub, but if you have the necessary tools, you can change just the bearing. To start, remove the tires, wheels, and disassemble the brake system. Once the rotors are detached, you can take off the wheel hub from the control arms. Upon removing the wheel hub, place it in a press to extract the old bearing. Then, install a new bearing and carefully press it into position using a block of wood on top to ensure even placement. This process should typically resolve any whining noise emanating from your wheels.
