Several generations of Ford F-Series trucks, including the F-250, F-350, F-450, and Super Duty F-550 models, have had drivers report issues with the roof molding detaching, often requiring replacement. This is due to the molding being secured by two studs with adhesive underneath, which can cause them to come loose. To replace the molding, you'll need basic hand tools such as a 1/4" hand ratchet, a T50 socket, a flathead screwdriver, and duct tape. The process typically takes about an hour or two. Steps include removing the step panel, door trim, seatbelt, rear side panel behind the seatbelt mounting point, and the trim panel on the affected side to access the interior nuts holding the molding. It's crazy, my 2018 super duty King Ranch has the trim held on with pop rivets behind the rear window now. Things just keep getting worse!

Once the weather warms up, I plan to remove the low-quality Chinese parts that Ford used on my truck and have a professional roofer seal it for good. I will also inspect for any other shortcuts taken by Ford, despite this being the best truck I've ever had. It's unfortunate that Ford has encountered quality issues like everyone else these days.

My roof trim near the rear window snapped off on my 2018 Diesel King Ranch with the Premium 6-year warranty. They claim the warranty doesn't include the trim and there hasn't been a recall yet.
