As per Ford's recommendation for the 2013 Fiesta, it is advised to change the timing belt every 150,000 miles, which is considered a generous interval. A replacement timing belt can typically be obtained for around $40. Before starting the process, disconnect the negative terminal of the battery. Ensure that the Fiesta is securely off the ground. Proceed by disconnecting the coolant expansion tank and power steering reservoir, and then removing the protective splash guard around the crankshaft pulley. Loosen the four bolts of the water pump pulley with the drive belt in place, and then remove the drive belt. Next, unscrew the bolts of the coolant pump pulley and remove it, followed by taking out the engine mounting brackets and securing the crankshaft with a plate. These steps will grant you access to effectively replace your timing belt.
