Failure to address the underlying cause of the check engine light appearing on your 2000 Toyota Camry will likely result in it returning. Besides fixing the issue, common ways to reset the light include using a scan tool, disconnecting the battery, or removing the engine control module (ECM) fuse. Today, we will use the last method. Find the fuse panel cover underneath your steering wheel, remove it by pulling it down with your fingers, then take out the ECM fuse. Insert the key into the ignition, turn on the car without starting the engine, wait for a few minutes, reinsert the ECM fuse, and observe the check engine light flashing briefly before turning off. Switch off the engine and reattach the fuse panel cover.
