To clear the check engine light on the Chevy Silverado, check out this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gccyibpi0cs. Spark plugs should typically be replaced every 100,000 miles, except for copper ones which should be changed every 30,000 miles. Air filters should be replaced every 15,000 to 30,000 miles, while coolant needs replacement every 60,000 miles. Engine issues to watch for include loose gaskets that should be tightened, spark plug issues that may arise causing engine problems, and the serious risk of engine overheating which could result in fires and vehicle explosions. Be aware of excessive oil consumption which may necessitate more frequent oil changes and address any oil leaks promptly.

To start up most GMC/Chevrolet vehicles, turn the key to the "on" position and tap the gas pedal three times before starting the engine. This method is effective for starting up these types of vehicles.

I had a warning for the engine and reduced power, so I checked the settings to see if I could find any error codes for either a V8 or V4 engine. I'm not sure if I did anything to regain full power. Should I keep the check engine light on until I bring the truck to the dealership to diagnose the issue? It's a 2014 Z71 Silverado truck.

Sorry, that message was actually for resetting the oil light, not what I initially thought. Just a little mix-up on my end!

My 2002 Silverado's "service engine soon" light came on out of nowhere while I was driving. I tried turning the key on and off a few times but that didn't solve the problem. The truck just hit 200,000 miles. It doesn't feel like it's running poorly or anything. Could it be the gas cap, O2 sensor, or some other minor issue?
