To turn off the oil light in a 2018 BMW X5, start the car without turning on the engine by pressing the START/STOP button once. Then, hold down the reset button on the left side of the dashboard for at least 10 seconds until the service indicator light appears. Use the SET/RESET button to navigate to the oil change interval option on the service menu. When you see "RESET" on the screen, press and hold the button again. Once you see the "OK" message, turn off the ignition and then back on to confirm that the oil life message is no longer displayed. It's recommended to change the oil and oil filter every 10,000 miles or 12 months.

buddy! Just tap the star/stop button one time – but don't get that engine running. Then, hold down the set/reset button until you see the service light pop up. To cycle through the service menu, you'll have to keep hitting the set/reset button. Once you spot the oil change reminder, press and hold that set/reset button once more. When you see "reset," give that set/reset button another long press. You're all set once you see "ok" and the new mileage. Finally, turn off your ride and you're good to go!
