To clear the oil change alert on your 2003 Ford Explorer, start by pushing the SETUP button until you come to the System Check menu. Next, continuously press the RESET button until you see "Oil life -% Hold Reset New" appear. Then, hold down the RESET button for about 2 seconds until "If new oil, hold reset" pops up. Release the RESET button, then press it once more until "Oil life set to 100%" displays. Following these steps will successfully reset your oil change indicator, and your vehicle will be set for its next service.
Start the car. Hold down the oil change reset button for a few seconds. The screen will show the oil life has been reset to 100%. Turn off the car. Restart the engine to confirm that the reset was successful.
