To reset the oil life indicator on your 2012 Ford Escape, start by inserting the key into the ignition and turning it to the on position without starting the engine. Locate the setup button on your dashboard or steering wheel and press it several times until you find the section labeled oil life. Once you are in this section, press and hold the reset button for a few seconds until it blinks. Release the button once it blinks, then turn off the power to the vehicle before restarting it. When you start the vehicle again, you should see the light reset.

Just before turning the key all the way, turn the ignition on. Press the setup button until you see the code word "oil life" appear and then hold down the reset button. Keep holding it until it responds.

I'm not sure about how to reset the display when it shows "Oil change Req"; I believe there might be an additional step involved. Pressing reset alone may not show the oil life information.
