The Land Rover LR3's air suspension system operates through a compressor and cannot be turned off. There is no switch provided in the LR3 to deactivate the air suspension. When it's necessary to lift the vehicle for maintenance on the brakes or tires, it's essential to have a certified dealer reset the SLABS control unit to a standard state before commencing the work. Lifting the vehicle without resetting the system can trigger warnings for traction control, ABS, and hill descent, potentially causing suspension damage. Alternatively, opening a door temporarily disables the compressor as a safety feature to maintain stability when passengers get in and out of the vehicle.
