Carolyn is mistaken, sadly. The feature is in place and cannot be disabled. It's a negative aspect that I only found out about after purchasing my 2020 model. If I had been aware beforehand, I would have chosen the Silverado solely for this specific reason.

Check out the main console up front - there's a feature there that lets you do what you need. Just navigate through the settings until you locate it.
