In a 2015 Ford Focus, as well as in any other vehicle, the passenger airbag is a crucial safety feature that should never be turned off under normal circumstances. The airbag automatically deactivates when the seat is empty. However, there are situations where you might need to disable the airbag, such as when performing repairs in the dashboard or if you have a fragile passenger. To do this, you must ensure that all electrical accessories, including the radio, are switched off. Turn off the ignition and find the central junction box located on the cabin side of the firewall beneath the left side of the dashboard. Remove the 7.5 amp fuse labeled "RCM" and then turn on the ignition without starting the engine. If you have removed the correct fuse, the airbag light will come on for at least 30 seconds. After this time, switch off the ignition and disconnect the negative battery terminal for one to two minutes. This process should not deactivate the passenger airbag.
