The newest Toyota Corolla models will have a seatbelt warning sound that activates if you're driving over a certain speed without your seatbelt on. To disable this feature, you can follow these steps: Start by inserting the key into the ignition and turning it to the "on" position without starting the car. Next, press the small button on the instrument cluster to cycle through your trip odometer until you see the "ODO" symbol. Turn off the ignition, then turn it back to the "on" position and hold the button for 10 to 15 seconds while putting on your seatbelt. Release the button and the trip odometer should now display "B off" on the instrument cluster.

How can I make the noisy seatbelt alarm in my 2019 Toyota Corolla stop?

  • Nika

This method is ineffective and it's very frustrating. Every video I've watched instructs to find the odometer display, but in the 2020 Toyota Corolla, there is no dedicated screen for just the odometer reading. The video fails to provide clear instructions for newer models like the 2020, which can be confusing and unhelpful. It would be better if they specified whether this process only applies to older models or if it is not compatible with the 2020 model. The dealership has been of no assistance in this matter.

Hey everyone, on each seat there are two clips. If you remove the small white clip, you'll eliminate the noise and won't see any warning signs in the car. Thank you!

Do you have any updates on how to turn it off? Appreciate it!

I have a 2016 Corolla eco, and this feature doesn't seem to work for me because pushing and holding the button while on the odometer screen is how you activate or deactivate the eco mode.

I encountered a similar issue with my 2022 Toyota Corolla. To address this, you'll need to locate an independent mechanic, not affiliated with the Toyota dealership, who can assist you. If possible, stand by the mechanic as they use a scan tool to pull the ECU parameters. Together, navigate through the menu until you reach the warning section. Within this menu, disable the seatbelt warnings for all 5 seats - 2 in the front and 3 in the back. By doing this, you can eliminate the constant sound of the seatbelt warning. Unfortunately, I'm not sure how to disable the small red man in the corner of the speedometer, but at least you won't be bothered by the repetitive sound anymore.

I agree with @Brian. This just doesn't make sense for my 2020 Corolla at all.

In 2016, the Toyota Corolla Axio hybrid had a seatbelt sign problem where it would randomly appear and beep while driving. Even after restarting the car multiple times, the issue persisted with no solution in sight.

Don't get upset if something doesn't fit your car model; there are numerous car variations and model years out there. No need to shed any tears over it.

Make sure to fasten the seat belts in the back before placing any heavy items on them. We connect the seat belts together when our dog triggers the alarm, so that's how we handle it.

To silence the alarm, you must disconnect the seat pressure pad wire. Just lift the back seat to access the wire behind the seat belts, use a flat head screwdriver to unclip it, and that's all - no more annoying alarms. This simple task takes just 5 minutes and provides peace of mind for life.

Here's a paraphrased and unique version of the text: "Here's the perfect way to ensure your safety in the car - Firstly, hop into the car but don't start the engine right away. Then, fasten your seat belt before starting the car. Once the car is on, maintain the seat belt securely fastened. Remember to keep it on until you reach a speed of 60mph, and continue wearing it until you either reach your destination or experience a collision with another vehicle.

    I'm stumped. I drive a 2023 Corolla.

To deactivate the rear seat belts and front alarm system, simply disconnect the seat pressure pad alarm. The rear seat belts can be especially bothersome. Lift up the rear seat cushion to access the wire connecting the pressure pad and seat belt buckle. Use a small flat head screwdriver to press and unclip the wire. Reassemble the seat and the warning alarms will be silenced. Peace and quiet restored.

Shahzad, what on earth are you saying? I have searched high and low, even under my seat, and there are no clips. You claim they should be in "every" seat, but it's clear you are mistaken.
