The Ford Explorer is equipped with a seatbelt alarm that activates when the vehicle is on and the seatbelt is not fastened. To disable this alarm, you can follow these steps: Start the vehicle with the engine off and the seatbelt unbuckled. Wait around 20 seconds until the seatbelt light on the dashboard turns off. Then, buckle and unbuckle the seatbelt 3 to 5 times until the light begins to flash. Once the seatbelt light is flashing, the alarm chime will be deactivated for the car.

Put the key into the ignition and start the power, but do not start the engine. Look for a button on the dashboard that allows you to switch between trip and total mileage. Hold down this button until you see "odo" displayed. Turn the key off and then back on, and hold the same button for 15 seconds before letting go. You should see "B off" on the screen, indicating that the alarm is now deactivated.
