The Honda Accord's traction control system, working in tandem with VSA, enhances stability on hazardous or slippery roads. It can be deactivated by pressing the "TRAC" button, but it will automatically reactivate when speeds exceed 20 mph. To fully turn it off, insert the key into the ignition without starting the car, press and hold the brake pedal, switch the TRAC button off and on, engage the parking brake, release the pedal, toggle traction control off and on, press the pedal again, hold the TRAC button once more to turn it off and on. Two lights will come on, with one flashing; this flashing light will stay on until the car is turned off, signaling that traction control has been successfully deactivated. This process must be repeated each time the vehicle is started.
