Performing a Master Reset on a 2013 Ford Focus will delete all data stored on the SYNC System, except for information on your paired phone, which will be untouched. Resetting will eliminate phone book entries, call history, text messages, paired devices, saved addresses, and navigation history solely on the SYNC System. After re-pairing your phone, most data will be restored, except for previously saved or navigated destinations. It is recommended to remove the navigation chip or SD card to retain this information. To initiate a Master Reset, go to the home screen, tap on the GEARS icon at the lower right center, select SETTINGS from the menu, choose SYSTEM, scroll down to page 2 to find MASTER RESET, confirm by tapping YES, and SYNC will reset accordingly.

On your phone, go to the settings menu and choose Bluetooth. From there, find and remove the pairing with Sync. Afterward, navigate to the Sync screen and press the menu button. Scroll down using the arrow button until you see sync settings, then press OK. Keep scrolling down to find the master reset option, and confirm by pressing OK again. You will see a confirmation message on your screen, where you should select yes. Remember to reconnect your phone to Sync once the master reset is done.
