To fold down the backseat in the Ford Escape, you'll need to follow some instructions to do it right. Start by opening the back cargo door and locate the pull lever at the center of each back seat. Pulling this lever will unlock the seat. Then, push the seats forward, ensuring the front seats are not reclined so you can fully fold the back seats down. You'll find the lever at the side of the seat near the bottom when you open the door. Don't forget to push the headrests down to create more cargo space. There might be a gap between the seats and the lower cargo area; lift the tray out and adjust it to fit on the tabs for a smooth surface.
