To change the differential oil in your 2005 Tundra, you'll need a 24mm socket and ratchet. The truck should be level for the correct fluid level. Initially, loosen the fill plug to ensure it can be filled. Next, loosen and remove the bottom differential drain bolt while placing a drain bucket underneath. Take out the drain bolt without losing the attached washer. Use a rag to clean the drain bolt to remove any metal shavings on the magnet. Then, remove the top-fill bolt to assist with faster draining of the fluid. Once all the fluid has drained, reinsert and tighten the drain bolt with the washer attached. Refill until fluid starts to overflow, then reinstall the fill bolt.
