Occasionally, you might need to reset or replace the blend door actuator on a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado. It's more common to require a replacement, but you can attempt a reset procedure, though success is not guaranteed due to the actuator's plastic gears being prone to failure. Here's what you can try: Set the climate control to auto or adjust the temperature manually to 0.5 to 0.75 inches away from full cold, then turn off the ignition. Locate the engine compartment fuse panel and remove the HVAC/ECAS-10A fuse for a minute before replacing it. Turn on the ignition, let the truck run for 1-2 minutes, then turn it off. Wait 10-30 seconds before turning the truck back on, ensuring not to touch any controls during the process. The reset is now complete.

This product worked flawlessly on my 2006 GMC Sierra 2500hd. My truck was at the repair shop getting the fuse box replaced due to mice, and when I got it back, the blower door wasn't opening for heat. I just followed the easy instructions and helpful video, and now everything is working as it should with the heat.

I did this because I got a new battery and couldn't adjust the air direction. Now I can adjust it, but my air conditioning no longer works. One of the fuses won't go back in.
