In a Honda Accord, the oil life display is designed to alert you when your oil is running low on protection. The display calculates this based on both mileage and time since your last oil change. If Honda performs the service, they will reset the counter for you. However, if you do the oil change yourself, you can reset the oil life indicator by following these steps. First, turn the ignition on without starting the engine. Then, press the Select/Reset button until the engine oil life indicator appears. Hold the button for 10 seconds or more until the indicator and maintenance code start blinking. Keep holding the button for an additional 5 seconds until the maintenance code disappears and the oil life resets to 0. Finally, turn off the ignition and start the car to confirm that the counter has been reset.

Worked for me - I held the button until the light started flashing, then released it and held it again for 7 to 8 seconds. Reset is now done.
