There are a couple of ways to reset the radio in a Jeep Grand Cherokee. The first method is a soft reset, where you hold down the volume and two knobs simultaneously for around 10 to 20 seconds until the radio turns off. It will quickly power back on, but may take about a minute to fully restart. The second way is a factory reset, which erases all saved settings like favorite stations and presets. To perform a factory reset, press and hold the temperature up and temperature down buttons on the driver's side controls until the display changes to the engineering menu. Scroll down in the menu until you find "Reset to factory default" and select it. Confirm your choice by selecting yes, then wait for 30 seconds for the reset to begin.

I installed a fresh battery in my 2019 Jeep Cherokee Latitude Plus, but the radio/uconnect screen doesn't seem to be working. I attempted the suggested solutions multiple times on separate occasions without success. Could there be a fuse or another component that might need replacing to fix this issue?

You all should be aware that the same button that controls the volume can also turn the device on and off.

Here's a paraphrased and simplified version: "To reset the system, press and hold the buttons at the center of the volume and tuner knobs below the touchscreen until the screen shuts off. Release the buttons, and the system will reset itself and switch back on after about a minute.

  • ANDREW WACKER

Neither of the top two solutions are effective. The engineering menu only has one available option, which is for radio part information. However, adjusting the volume and tuning does not have any effect. This car is a complete joke.

I own a 2015 Jeep Compass, and when I turn on the radio, it starts off working fine but after about 2-3 minutes of warming up, it starts making a popping sound. Do you have any ideas on how to fix this issue?

I've got a question too. My 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps switching stations, disconnecting calls mid-conversation, and randomly dialing another person from my contacts list. It happens all the time, and I've had to set all my stations to the same one and clear out my contacts to try to stop it. Do you think resetting my radio might solve this?

I simply held down the volume knob for 10 seconds until the screen turned off, released it, and it restarted and is now working perfectly. Thanks to everyone for their assistance.

The radio is not functioning properly.

The solution that successfully helped me restore the functionality of my in-car WIFI involved turning the radio on and then pressing and holding the power button for a slow count of 10 before releasing it. This action caused the radio to turn off and then back on, almost like a car restart. Some time ago, there was a change in ownership or the software of Uconnect, which ended up causing the WIFI feature in CDJR vehicles to stop working. Both my Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Cherokee were impacted by this issue.

It worked! Appreciate the help. Kept both buttons pressed for 20 seconds. The screen went dark, then powered back up. Purple heart emoji. Thank you.

I have a 2015 Grand Cherokee 3.6 and my radio won't turn on anymore. What could I do to fix it?

  • Kathy M

When I take my Cherokee to the dealership for service, I always make it clear that I do not want satellite radio installed in my Jeep. I don't like it and I don't want it. It would be appreciated if they asked me first before doing so.

Hey, I've got a question – does anyone know where I can find a radio for my 2014 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited? The touchscreen isn't working, and my heated seat and steering wheel controls are all on the screen.

  • Terrence

I couldn't get this method to work on my 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited. Even after trying to turn on the vehicle ignition and then powering on the radio, waiting for ten seconds, and then turning off the radio before pressing and holding the power button for a reset, it didn't help. It seems like I might have to resort to the factory reset option.
