To reset the radio in a Mazda2, start by attempting a soft reset. Begin by powering the vehicle without starting the engine. Then, locate the mute and navigation buttons on the center console and press all three buttons simultaneously for 10 seconds to reset the system. If you have an older model without these buttons and the radio remains frozen, the quickest solution is to disconnect the vehicle's battery and leave it unplugged for 20 to 30 minutes. This action will restore the entire vehicle to its factory settings and unfreeze the radio.
To initialize the radio in a Mazda 2, first press preset 6, AM, Auto M, and Try ^ (up) buttons one by one. Next, enter the code 4989. Then, hold down the Auto M and Preset 6 buttons. When the message 'Ok' appears, it means the radio is ready to be used.
The touchscreen radio is the only feature that is currently not functioning.
If your radio in your Mazda is acting up, you may need to reset the Bluetooth system. When the radio suddenly stops working while you're driving or if there are problems with pairing devices, this method could help resolve the issues.
