The 2014 Ford F-150 does not have a convenient way for owners to safely check the transmission fluid. While there is a check valve on the transmission fluid pan's side, it is challenging to access and if you mess with it too much, you might have to refill it. Ford has opted to leave the checking of transmission fluid to mechanics and dealerships to ensure it is at the correct level and clean. Although using a dipstick for this purpose is no longer a standard practice, modern transmissions have improved significantly, requiring less frequent maintenance, meaning you shouldn't have to be too concerned about the fluid levels.

Excuse me, but on a 2014 F-150, there is no dipstick under the hood. Apologies for the confusion. The dipstick can be found on the top of the passenger side, underneath where the transmission pan is located. You will need a 19 mm socket to remove it, and the dipstick is housed in that area.

Elizabeth, you sure know how to embarrass yourself by acting like a know-it-all. The only fool in this situation is you, and I wouldn't trust you to help with anything important.

To inspect the transmission fluid of a 2014 Ford F-150, follow these steps: Raise the hood, take out the dipstick, assess the fluid level, reinsert the dipstick, and then pull it out again to ascertain the level.
