The 2007 Toyota Camry with a 2.4 liter 4-cylinder engine comes with a 5-speed automatic transmission that requires 6.9 quarts of Dexron III/Mercon ATF fluid. It is recommended to have a transmission flush and filter change every 30,000-50,000 miles. Check the fluid levels when the transmission temperature reaches 120 degrees. To begin, place a drain pan under the vehicle and transmission, and use a 6mm socket to remove the drain plug. Let the fluid drain as the engine runs, and if the fluid appears darker or blacker, it's a sign that it needs to be replaced. Ensure the vehicle is level for an accurate drain. Uncover the filter housing by removing the cover with a 10mm socket. Turn off the engine and then remove the two bolts that secure the fill plug located behind the front wheel. Refill the transmission using a funnel.
