If you have a Ford Focus with an automatic transmission, checking the transmission fluid is a straightforward process. Begin by locating the dipstick, positioned near the front of the engine compartment close to the air filter housing. Ensure your Focus is on a flat surface, then extract and cleanse the dipstick. Reinsert and then remove it again to obtain an accurate reading of the fluid level. However, for manual transmissions, there is no dipstick available. To inspect the fluid level, you must remove the check plug, unless there is a noticeable leak, the fluid level should be adequate. When it comes to fluid replacement, there are separate lower and upper holes for draining and refilling the system respectively.

The Ford Fusion is one of the cars that Ford includes a transmission fluid dipstick with. You can find this dipstick located near the oil dipstick in the engine compartment. This allows you to check the condition of the fluid and add more if needed.
