Resetting the computer on your 2004 Chevrolet Impala requires a more delicate approach compared to a desktop computer, where you can simply give it a good whack and make it behave. Instead, the recommended method is to visit an AutoZone and ask one of the clerks to reset it for you if you don't have your own Scantool. Alternatively, you can purchase an affordable bluetooth ODB-II dongle from Amazon and use a free app on your phone for a more updated scanning setup. However, the traditional single function Scantools work just as well. Either option allows you to reset the codes and the ECU. If you prefer a manual approach, you can disconnect your battery. First, detach the negative battery cable and move it aside. Then, turn the headlight switch to the ON position to drain any remaining power from the ECM. After waiting at least 10 minutes, turn the switch off, reconnect the negative battery cable, and start your Impala as usual; the computer should now be reset.

If you unhook the battery for 10 minutes, it will reboot the computer in a 2004 Chevrolet Impala.

I attempted to follow the reset steps, but unfortunately, nothing seems to be resolving the issue.
