The 2012 Chevy Cruze comes with a key fob that has a button to release the trunk. Before using it, make sure the car is turned off, in park, and all doors are closed. If your car has the 6-speed manual transmission, remember to apply the parking brake. Press and hold the trunk release button on your key fob, or use the button near the radio. The total cargo space available is 15.4 cubic feet across all trim levels.

On the driver's side door, there's a button to open the trunk or you can also use the trunk release button on your key fob if you have one.

What if you don't have a keyless entry remote because there's not a single button to open the trunk anywhere in the vehicle.

The 2012 models don't have a trunk release button on the inside of the car. It's actually on the outside, underneath the middle of the trunk lid, right above the license plate. You can't see it, but you can feel for it there. It will only open when your key fob is either inside the car or in your pocket. I think it's a security feature to prevent anyone other than you from opening it, which ain't too bad, haha.
