To reset a Mercedes transmission, start by putting the key in the ignition and turning it to the on position without starting the engine. Next, press and hold the accelerator pedal all the way down until you feel the button behind the pedal engage. After 15 seconds, while still pressing the accelerator, turn the key off and remove it. Release the pedal and wait for 2 to 3 minutes as the ECU communicates with the transmission control module to initiate the relearning process. This action doesn't reset the transmission but instead enters it into a relearn mode that will adapt to your driving habits for shifting and other functions.

To recalibrate the transmission adaptive learning function in a Mercedes, first ensure the key is in the on position without starting the engine. Next, fully press the accelerator pedal down. After a brief moment, switch the ignition off while keeping the pedal depressed. Let go of the pedal, wait for 2 minutes, and then start the engine.
