To reset the tire pressure monitoring system (TPMS) in a 2008 Toyota Highlander, start by confirming that the tire pressures are accurate. Then, switch on the engine and locate the reset button, situated below and to the right of the steering wheel on the instrument panel. Keep the button pressed until the TPMS indicator light on the instrument panel blinks slowly three times. It's vital to check your tire air pressure monthly using a reliable tire gauge, as low pressure can be hazardous and may lead to a tire blowout. Possible causes of low pressure include leaks or natural pressure loss over time. Reduced air pressure can cause increased flexing of the tire sidewalls and heat buildup within the tire.

I have a 2008 Toyota Highlander Hybrid, but I can't seem to find the TPMS button anywhere near the steering wheel. I've checked the glove box and even looked under the steering column, but there's no sign of it. Do you have any suggestions or ideas on where it could be located?

To reinitialize the tire pressure sensor on a 2008 Toyota Highlander, first, find the reset button in the glove box. Hold it down for approximately three seconds until the TPMS light flashes three times. Next, start the vehicle and let it run until the light turns off.

The object is located there. You can find the switch beyond the point where the interior plastic finishes, positioned on the downward-facing dashboard structure.

It's located under the VCS button, but it's quite tiny and difficult to locate. Continuously glide your fingers slowly across the panel beneath the primary plastic surface.

I own a 2008 Highlander Limited. The button in the glove compartment seems to be for opening the back hatch, based on the graphic. Additionally, I checked below the steering column for the TPMS icon (related to snow tires or something similar), but couldn't find it. The manual suggests contacting the dealer for assistance, which is quite disappointing.

Darn it. It seems like nobody has discovered a solution for this issue if it's not located under the steering column or in the glove compartment, right?

In my 2008 Highlander Limited, I found the Tire Pressure Monitoring (TPM) button above the right knee on the driver's seat. To locate yours, use a small mirror and peek under the console.

The tire pressure indicator is active, but everything is fine.

It's probable that you don't have TPMS. In Limited models, you can find it located on the left side of the glove box. The VSC switch is situated on the lower right side of the steering column.
