If you have a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado, you might need to reset the vehicle's ECU or computer. It's a relatively simple process that should only take around ten minutes. To start, pop open the hood of your truck and then disconnect the negative battery cable using a 3/8 inch impact wrench to remove the nut. Once you've detached the cable from the battery, turn on the headlights to completely drain the power from the computer system. Lastly, reconnect the cable to the battery, secure the nut, start your vehicle, and your ECU should be restored to its original settings.

To reset the computer on your 2011 Chevy Silverado as an American, start by loosening the nut on the negative battery cable using a socket set or wrench. Slide the cable off the battery and set it aside. Next, turn on the headlights to drain any remaining power from the ecm. Wait for at least 10 minutes before turning the headlights off. Reconnect the negative battery cable by following the reverse steps, making sure to securely tighten the nut without overdoing it. Your ecm is now reset.
