Resetting the computer in a 2008 Chevrolet Impala is a quick and simple process that will only take about 10 to 12 minutes of your time. To start, head over to the driver's side of your car and enter the vehicle. Turn the ignition to the on position without starting the engine. Find the erase button on your scan tool and press it down to clear the codes from the computer. Allow the engine to run for approximately 8 to 12 minutes. Double-check, and the computer should now be completely reset.
