First, locate and reset the windshield wiper relays in the Mercedes' fuse panel on the driver's side of the engine. The diagram for this is usually in the tool compartment near your spare tire. Look for relays K1 and K2 near the driver side firewall. Once you've reset the relays, start the engine with all doors closed and set the wipers to position #3, then back to #0, and then to the automatic #1 setting (commonly known as the "rain sensor position"). It's ideal to do this when it's raining, but you can simulate rain by having someone pour water on the windshield. Alternatively, you can open the sunroof and spray liquid. If you don't have water on hand, the type of liquid to use is up to you.

Safelite really let me down with my Sprinter van. They returned it to me without fixing the rain sensing and lane keeping assist features. I'll attempt to reset the relays myself, and if that doesn't work, I'll have to seek help from a reputable auto body shop.

No response, just super excited that I discovered this! A note to original equipment manufacturers: when working with Safelite, make sure to instruct them to exclusively use OEM parts and inspect all sensors and wipers. Shoutout to Oliver for being amazing!
