To easily reboot the anti-theft system on a 2012 Dodge Avenger, start by unplugging the negative battery terminal for about 15 to 30 minutes before plugging it back in. This should do the trick, but in some cases, additional actions may be required. If needed, you can reset the anti-theft by locking all doors with your key fob, then unlocking just the driver's side. Once inside the car, insert your key into the ignition and turn the power on and off three times (without starting the engine). This process should effectively reset the system.
