In order to reinitialize the anti-theft system on a 2007 Chevy Impala, start by turning the key in the ignition to the "on" position and trying to start the engine. If the anti-theft has prevented ignition, the vehicle won't start. Wait for about 10 minutes for the "security" warning light to stop flashing. Then, switch the key to the "off" position and wait for 5 seconds before trying to start the engine again. If the reset is successful, the vehicle should start. You may need to repeat these steps a maximum of three times to allow the anti-theft feature to unlock the engine. Eventually, the Passlock Sensor Data Code will signal the ignition to power on.
