To reset the security system on a 2012 Toyota Camry in the US, first insert the key into the ignition and start the vehicle. Then, press and hold the power and tune up buttons on the stereo simultaneously. After a short wait, a light on the stereo will flash, signaling you to enter your security code. Use the preset buttons on the stereo to input the code. If you don't have the security code handy, you can alternatively remove the car's battery for 20 minutes to completely reset the system.

My 2012 Camry experienced issues with the engine, lights, and more not functioning properly. After disconnecting the negative terminal of the battery for a minute and reconnecting it, everything is now functioning correctly. I suspect this may have reset the car's computer system. To be prepared in case this happens again, I now keep a wrench in the glove compartment to easily disconnect the battery.
