To set the parking brake in a Ram 1500 truck, firmly press the left pedal located in the footwell. Releasing the brake is a bit more complicated than in most vehicles. Unlike others, there is no clearly labeled release or a need to press the pedal again. The Ram 1500 has a hidden release lever designed to blend in with the trim above the parking brake. Reach behind the "dashboard trim" with your fingers and pull forward to release the parking brake. Make sure to keep your foot on the brake pedal to prevent any unintended movement.

Place your right foot on the standard brake pedal to disengage the parking brake in a Ram 1500. Then, pull the lever located on the lower left side of the dashboard labeled "(p) brake unlock." This action will release the parking brake, enabling you to drive without any restrictions.

Thanks a lot, Nick! You really came through in a pinch. I rented a Ram in Las Vegas and had an issue with the emergency brake locking up, which really threw me off. Fortunately, I came across your advice and was able to release the brake by pulling the handle, bringing me instant relief.
