To repair a power steering leak in the 2008 Ford Edge, first inspect the lines for any signs of damage. If the lines appear to be in good condition, you may need to replace the pump and refill the system with new power steering fluid. To change the power steering fluid, locate the clear plastic container under the hood near the window. Use a pump to extract all the old fluid from the container. As you do this, turn the steering wheel fully in each direction to allow the fluid in the system to drain into the container. Once the container is empty, refill it with fresh fluid up to the indicated full line, taking care not to overfill. It may take some time for the steering to adjust, so drive the car for about 20 minutes to ensure the repair was successful.
