The 2015 Ford Escape follows a typical procedure for changing the battery, but with a few obstacles. Initially, you must find the battery located beneath the car's hood, hidden under a panel behind the air box. To reach the battery, you have to first remove the air box by unscrewing its four screws. Once the air box is out of the way, you can then slide the battery out. After disconnecting the terminals, you can pull out the battery and replace it with a new one in the battery tray. Secure the terminals, re-attach the air box, and you're all set. While it can be inconvenient that the air box blocks battery access, this is the design choice made by Ford.
