To replace the battery in the 2014 Ford Fusion's key fob, first separate the back and front sides of the fob. Release the metal key and find a small notch on the sides of the plastic panels. Use a flathead screwdriver to pop it open. Take off the back of the fob to uncover a panel with a round CR2025 battery. Use a coin or flathead screwdriver to remove the 3-volt battery. You can find the CR2025 battery at most retailers, as it is the same type used in watches and other devices. Insert the new battery with the positive side facing up, then close the remote by following the opening steps in reverse and snapping the key back in place.

To replace the battery in a Ford Fusion key fob, start by gently prying off the back of the key using a thin screwdriver or wedge. Next, use the tool to take out the old battery and install a new CR2302 battery. Lastly, snap the back cover back in place securely.
