Assuming you've already purchased the correct headlights for your 2012 Chevrolet Colorado, let's go ahead and replace them. It's not too difficult of a task. To start, pull the hood release and raise the engine hood using the hood support to keep it steady. You could try using your head to prop it up, but it tends to be uncomfortable, and you might get some strange looks due to the black streaks from the hood liner. Trust me, I learned that the hard way! Now, look towards the front near the headlight housing, and you'll spot the bulb sockets. Twist the bulb socket counterclockwise to loosen and remove it from the housing. There will be two sockets: the low beams on the left and the high beams on the right. Once you've taken them out, disconnect them from the back of the bulb. Attach the connector to the new bulb, place it back into the housing, and turn it clockwise to secure it back in place. And that's it! Your lights are good to go!

To replace a light bulb, like a headlight or brake light, in a 2012 Chevy Colorado, you must first take off the plastic cover above it. To do this, unscrew the cover and gently push it out. With the cover removed, twist the bulb to release it, replace it with a new one by twisting it in the opposite direction. Finally, reattach the cover and you're all set.
