The thermostat on the 2012 Chevy Cruze is securely attached to the radiator with two metal bolts, making it simple to remove and replace. It is connected to the ECU via a wire, but this is a straightforward plug-and-play setup. A replacement thermostat is affordable at around $100, and it is so easy to install that there is no need to pay an additional $50 for a professional to do it for you.

To replace the thermostat in a 2012 Chevy Cruze, the first step is to drain the coolant from the radiator. The drain nozzle can be found under the passenger headlight. Next, detach the thermostat housing connected to the upper radiator hose. Loosen the two torx bolts on the housing that secure the hard pipe feed. Remove the four main bolts holding the thermostat housing to the engine block, as well as the two sensor clips. Finally, unscrew the old thermostat and install the new one.
